Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-07-03

These terms cover your use of Quidsmith at quidsmith.com. By playing the game or reading the guides you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Not financial advice. Quidsmith is an educational and entertainment game. Nothing on this site is personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any product. All figures, companies, rates and events are illustrative and simplified for play and do not reflect any real product or your own circumstances. For decisions about your own money, speak to a suitably qualified, regulated adviser.

What Quidsmith is

Quidsmith is a free, independent browser game that simulates a lifetime of UK personal finance. It models real product types for realism, but it is a game, not a financial tool, and must not be relied on for real financial decisions.

Using the game

You may play the game and read the guides for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to disrupt it, access it other than through the normal interface, or use it in any unlawful way. The game runs in your browser and stores your progress on your own device, as described in the privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The game, its guides, code, design and original content are the property of the developer and are protected by copyright. You may link to the site and quote short passages with attribution. You may not copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of it without permission. Real product and company names referenced in the guides remain the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the real-world things the game models.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free. The economic model is deliberately simplified and may not reflect real-world outcomes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content, including any financial decision made in connection with it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

Third-party links and services

The site links to third-party sites and may use third-party services such as Google Analytics and, where enabled, Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties. See the privacy policy for how these are handled.

Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated from time to time; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept the current terms. They are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
